Next Sunday, at 11:00 in the morning, the horizon of Arrecife will be adorned with the sails of the 8.55-meter boats, which will compete in the eighth and penultimate regatta of the season. This regatta is not only crucial for its position in the standings, but also for being the last of the Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy, adding an extra layer of competitiveness.
The Regatta Committee will try, if the wind allows, to install the regatta field near the Insular Center of Nautical Sports, allowing fans to witness the skill and strategy of the sailors from a privileged point of view. In addition, those who cannot attend in person will have the opportunity to follow the competition through a live broadcast on the Facebook of the Insular Federation of Latin Sail Boats of Lanzarote, with images by Ana Curbelo and comments by Bruno Farraiz.
At the top of the table, the Graciosero Líneas Romero provisionally leads with 9 points, closely followed by its closest rival, the Puerto del Arrecife, which is only two points away. The Haría Volcán de la Corona remains in third position, five points behind the leader, while the Villa de Teguise and the Maramajo are in a more personal fight, separated by only one point between them.
The wind forecast promises an additional challenge for the competitors, with north winds blowing between 10 and 12 knots, testing the skill and tactics of the teams in their quest for victory, without ruling out any of the five participating teams.
Will the Graciosero Líneas Romero be able to maintain its leadership, or will the Puerto del Arrecife take advantage of the northern breeze to give more excitement to the competition with one day to go? This Sunday, the answers will be revealed with each maneuver in the water. Fans, both on the coast and online, eagerly await the spectacle that is to come.
