The Lanzarote karate club Poliarrecife wins five medals at the Adeje Autonomous Championship

Amelie Yaiza, twice, and Mikel González managed to finish in first position in their respective categories while Alejandro García and Gael Guadalupe finished in third place

The karatekas from the Lanzarote club Poliarrecife participated last Sunday in the Adeje Autonomous Championship, where around 500 athletes of this discipline from all the islands gathered and in which the athletes from Lanzarote returned with five medals to their credit.

The performances of Amelie Yaiza Skiba and Mikel González stood out, both obtaining the gold medal. On the part of Amelie, in the Female Youth Kata category, she managed to win in her four matches, where she reached the unanimous decision of the judges, while in the Female Youth Kumite category -42, -47,-52kgs, the athlete from Lanzarote achieved victory after winning her three matches by a resounding 8-0, 6-0 and 8-0. The performance of Mikel González in the Male Cadet Kumite category -52 kgs unfolded with first place after also winning all his fights.

On the other hand, Alejandro García and Gael Guadalupe, in Youth Kumite -48kgs, won the bronze medal after being eliminated in the semifinals.

Jimena Padilla also competed in the southern municipality of Tenerife, who, despite completing a great competition, could not finish among the podium places.
