The IV Pre-Benjamin Altavista CF Concentration that was held last Monday at the Agapito Reyes Viera facilities served to raise 540 euros for the Association of Families with Oncohematological Diseases of Lanzarote (Afol); a record figure compared to what has been accumulated in previous editions of this soccer tournament, according to the Arrecife City Council. Aimed at children between 4 and 7 years old, the competition has had "more than 200 participants", who, apart from enjoying the sports practice, have joined this solidarity initiative.
The funds have been raised through a raffle of "different prizes from collaborating companies and official jerseys signed by the players of RCD Espanyol, SD Eibar or FC Barcelona, among others", explained from the capital Consistory.
The IV Pre-Benjamin Altavista CF Concentration has had the participation of eleven clubs from the island of Lanzarote, such as CD Arrecife, CD Lomo, CD Maciot Sport, Orientación Marítima, Altavista CF, San Bartolomé CF, CD Tahíche, CD Tite, CDU Puerto del Carmen, Unión Sur Yaiza and UD Lanzarote. And on this occasion "the results that occurred in each of the matches were not taken into account; there were no winners or losers, the fair play among the young soccer players triumphed", the City Council stressed.
The participating players received a diploma that accredited their participation in the tournament and concluded with a large family photo and the delivery of the money raised to the Afol representatives.
