The 'Eco Action Week' returns to Puerto Calero

The event will feature outreach, sports and nautical activities to celebrate Environment Day

The 14th of June will be the closing of the environmental week, with the organization of a large number of outreach, sports and nautical activities to celebrate Environment Day and Ocean Day. Puerto Calero, hand in hand with Secrets Lanzarote, is preparing the organization of a new edition of the Eco Action Week.

This year, with more activities than ever thanks to the great involvement of marina operators and new collaborators. Already active in networks, there are two contests: Colors of the Sea, a photographic contest that will win a weekend for two people at the five-star Secret Lanzarote hotel and the Judge for a Day where the winner will be able to judge the sustainable proposals of the restaurants of Puerto Calero, in addition to a fantastic dinner in the winning restaurant.

June 14th will be the closing day of this EcoAction Week with a wide range of activities that will be centralized in the Plaza de Las Carpas of Puerto Calero:

  • 9.00 am: Coastal cleanup by Secret Lanzarote and Calero Diving. Raffle of prizes among the participants.
  • 10.00 am: Yoga activity with Catya Yoga (Plaza de Las Carpas)
  • 10.30 am: Talk «Cetaceans in the Canary Islands and responsible sightings» by Gonzalo Apesteguía Zamorano – WeWhale and Francesca Fusar Poli – SECAC (Puerto Calero Auditorium)
  • 11.00 am: Functional exercise class with Telamón Box (Plaza de Las Carpas)
  • 11.00 am: Talk «The example of the Canary Islands in the international fight against marine pollution by hydrocarbons» by Ezequiel Navio Vasseur, Naturalist and spokesman of Adacis. (Puerto Calero Auditorium)
  • 11.00 am to 1.00 pm: J80 ride with CD Código Cero (Plaza de Las Carpas)
  • 11.00 am to 1.00 pm: Diving baptisms with Calero Diving (Plaza de Las Carpas)
  • 12.00 pm: Gastronomic contest with the restaurants of Puerto Calero (Plaza de Las Carpas)

The directed activities will have a symbolic cost of 3 euros that will be destined to local NGOs. All directed activities will be with previous registration in the online form until filling all the places, but in addition you can enjoy children's workshops, sustainable market, talks and Dj.

This action, included in the campaign of activities of Puerto Calero in the promotion of the Blue Flag, is organized in collaboration with Secret Lanzarote and the collaboration of Costa Calero, Calero Diving, Catya Yoga, CD Código Cero, Catlanza, Submarine Safaris, WeWhale, SECAC, Telamón Box, Marine Litter Observatory, the City Council of Yaiza, Yaizart and Adacis.
