A new day of competition is being prepared in the Island League of Latin Sail Barquillos of 8.55 Meters, once the middle of the season has been passed and the participating boats have been able to discard the worst result added to date. On Sunday morning, the Island Federation of Latin Sail Barquillos of Lanzarote organizes the fifth regatta of the season and with which the Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy is concluded.
At 11:00 in the morning the start will be given to the fifth regatta of the season, although the activity will begin hours before in the facilities of the Insular Center of Nautical Sports, in Marina Colón. Fans will be able to follow the incidents of the regatta from the dock itself, the Avenida Marítima and even in the streaming that the federative entity makes through its facebook page.
Harsh wind conditions are expected on Sunday morning in the bay of Arrecife. Forecasts indicate that the wind will blow with an intensity of 18 to 23 knots from the north, at the limit of what is established by the regulations, and with quite a wave in the regatta field that will make it difficult to navigate the 8.55 meter boats.
After last week's victory, the Graciocero Líneas Romero, skippered by Aythami Quintana, leads the classification of the Island League of Latin Sail Barquillos of 8.55 Meters, with only one point ahead of the Puerto del Arrecife of Manri Rodríguez. In the third position is the Villa de Teguise of Santiago González and from less to more comes the Isla de Lanzarote of Pedro de León. Further behind in this start of the season is the Haría Volcán de la Corona of Emilio Tavío.
With Sunday's regatta, the Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy closes, for which the fourth and fifth events of the season are valid. The Graciocero Líneas Romero leads the Ciudad de Arrecife Trophy, and the Isla de Lanzarote is second after the good result obtained last week.
