The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife hosted the presentation of the XIII César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas, which had its beginnings in 2002, at the request of the local fleet for a high-level event, and which became one of the three most important events on the national circuit, after Palma de Mallorca and Valencia.
The XIII edition will be held from June 6 to 8 based in Marina Lanzarote, where you can enjoy the great sailing festival.
Pilar Hernández, director of the event, made the presentation, explained the novelties of this edition that will feature the J80 fleet, in addition to the usual Cruiser class. “Everyone will be able to enjoy the spectacle of sailing, you will be able to follow the regattas live through tracking, or enjoy them from the boat that will be available to the public. We have one of the best regatta fields and a fun social program with our good gastronomy. We want it to be the great sailing festival again.”
The president of Calero Marinas, José Calero, said that: "20 years ago we enjoyed it a lot and we want to continue doing so, giving the spotlight to the sailors. Without sailors there is no regatta. With the collaboration of the RCNA we will reach the point from which we started”.
For his part, the president of the RCNA, Julio Romero, highlighted the enormous effort of Calero Marinas so that Lanzarote shines for its high-level events.
Héctor Fernández, CEO of Turismo Lanzarote, expressed himself in the same line, who said: “we support this type of events, the sea and what we have been able to develop in its environment”.
The event was closed by the Minister of Sports of the Cabildo, Juan Francisco Monzón, who said he was proud of sailing, one of the star sports in Lanzarote. “With one of the best regatta fields in the world, we have turned it into an attraction to come and compete in Lanzarote.”
