This Saturday, after two years of hiatus, the residents of the town of Tahíche once again recovered the traditional "Solidarity Race" in its VIII edition.
The race, which started in the vicinity of the César Manrique school, had a total of about 95 participants of different ages and with the special participation of the Olympian José Carlos Hernández. Men, women, boys and girls from different locations on the island, who were divided into two modalities of 6 and 12 kilometers.
Each of the runners, at the time of withdrawing the corresponding bib, deposited a bag with non-perishable products. In total, about 200 kilos were collected and distributed to Calor y Café, Cáritas and the Department of Social Welfare of the Teguise City Council.
Upon arrival at the finish line, the runners were able to taste bananas, ice cream and soft drinks, and the luckiest ones in the raffles will also be able to enjoy nights in hotels, travel tickets, dinners, etc.
The organization highly valued the participation of the runners, the behavior carried out throughout the race that ended without any incident and thanked the collaboration, as every year, of the neighbors who selflessly get involved controlling the entire itinerary without forgetting the volunteers and the Teguise City Council.
