Spar Gran Canaria and CC Atlántico Vecindario SLB win the Canary Islands Pre-Youth Basketball Championship

Sunday was the turn of the champions, the day where the final classifications of the Canary Islands Pre-Infant Basketball Championship were defined and where the teams were looking for the best possible situation within the final table.

A Sunday day that put the finishing touch to the competition that CD Magec Tías has been organizing since last Sunday and that has brought together the best players in the category of the archipelago.

The women's final faced Spar Gran Canaria and La Salle Tenerife in a match where the players from La Paterna started dominating the scoreboard but little by little the Tenerife players recovered until they put the team trained by Yéssica Montesdeoca in trouble. The last moments of the second quarter were vital for the yellow team to go to the break with an advantage on the scoreboard, 36 to 25.

In the second half, despite the initial impulse of the players of Marcos Alberto González, who managed to have his rival one point behind, again, the final bars of the quarter, in this case the third, allowed the Gran Canaria team to put land in between again. The last quarter was a replica of the events of the match, with La Salle giving everything to come back, finally doing so with minutes to go until the end of the match. The vibrant match had no owner until the last bars, in which the Tenerife players committed several errors that Spar Gran Canaria took advantage of to win 62 to 56. The third classified were the players of CB Santa Cruz, who defeated Canterbury in the consolation final.

The men's final faced the champion of group A, CC Atlántico Vecindario SLB and the champion of group B, Luther King de La Laguna, with the record of both teams immaculate with respect to the matches played and looking to be crowned champions without knowing defeat. The Tenerife team took the initiative in the first bars of the first quarter but little by little they deflated, allowing the Gran Canaria team to recover on the scoreboard, get ahead and manage to direct the match throughout the minutes, reaching the break with the score of 60 to 20.

In the second half, the team trained by Jose Adrián Báez put the finishing touch to the match with a minute and a half to go until the end of the match, closing the score by winning 79 to 29 and winning the title. The third position was for Canterbury School, which won in the consolation final against Ibersostar Canarias.
