Awaiting the final decision of the Delegate Commission of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation on the final classification in the national categories, San José Obrero continues to be immersed in the preparation of the squad of its women's team for the 2020/2021 season. The sports management of the Titerroy club has closed the incorporation of winger Sara de León, a player who has been offering great performance in CB Lanzarote Zonzamas, both in attack and in defense.
Sara de León Álvarez, a 23-year-old player, plays as a left winger and stands out for her powerful outside shot. Despite her youth, she has extensive experience in the Women's Silver Division of Honor, a category in which she has played more than a hundred games in the last five seasons.
She has trained in the different categories of CB Lanzarote Zonzamas, a team with which she achieved promotion to the Women's Silver Division of Honor in the 2014/2015 season and debuting in the following season in the national category. In addition, she has been selected on more than one occasion to attend different concentrations of the lower categories of the Spanish team.
In the recently concluded season, she played a total of 21 official matches in the Women's Silver Division of Honor, in which she scored 95 goals and with an average of 4.52 goals per game. A player who not only stands out for her contribution in attack, with a powerful outside shot and a lot of effectiveness to transform 7-meter shots, but also her work in the defensive line of the team is important.
She has always been characterized by her scoring facet, being one of the top scorers in the second highest national women's category. In the last four seasons, she has played 90 official matches and has scored 427 goals, with an average of 4.74 goals per match.
Sara de León becomes the first addition to CB San José Obrero for the 2020/2021 season, with the club's sports management working on the preparation of the squad. The player from Lanzarote joins a project in which the winger Gema Trujillo and the goalkeeper Ana Marín are already present, players who have renewed their link with the club.
