San José Obrero wins 30-27 against Balonmano Proin Sevilla

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife achieves its first victory

San José Obrero Defeats Balonmano Proin Sevilla 30-27

It was one of the matches marked in red on the calendar, knowing the importance of leaving the first two points of the season in the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion, and defeating a direct rival in the fight for permanence in the Men's Silver Honor Division. Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife played a fairly serious match, especially in defensive tasks, and was successful in key moments to distance themselves on the scoreboard.

The match began with the usual exchange of goals, with both teams offering a fast game in each of their offensive actions and trying to overcome the defensive framework executed by the players on the playing field. Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife managed to have a lead of two goals in these first minutes, with Carlos González putting the 5-3 on the scoreboard.

Two losses of the ball in attack allowed Balonmano Proin Sevilla to take the lead, with Julián López and Julio Morgado scoring (8-9). In the next attacking play, José Moguer scored for the Andalusians, and the gap increased to two goals (8-10). Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife did not despair, and two goals from Rafa Robayna from the left wing leveled the match again, and then Mauro Jaureguiberry put Titerroy ahead.

San José Obrero suffered in this first part the injury of the pivot Martxell Agorreta, a player who could not continue on the playing field and who left one of the team's positions on the playing field diminished. With the tight result of 15 to 14, the first 30 minutes of the match came to an end.

The second half began with goals from Ángel Iglesias and Carlos González, increasing the difference to three goals, the first minutes in which Asier Morillas stopped a seven-meter shot by Albertto Ruiz. Balonmano Proin Sevilla was not willing to let the match escape, needing a few minutes to get back into the fight and even taking the lead with a goal from David Martínez (19-20)

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife began to play with a more open defense, with Rafa Robayna and Joel Armas doing an excellent job in the advance. A defensive system that began to be difficult for Balonmano Proin Sevilla, having many problems to generate clear attacking actions. In addition, under the sticks Javi de la Cruz was very confident in these final minutes.

Two good penetrations by Aco Martín through the center of the defense gave the locals a two-goal advantage, forcing the Sevilla coach to request a time-out with four minutes remaining (27-25). On the return to the playing field, Óscar Silva read the attacking play perfectly to score by penetrating and Ángel Iglesias scored from the right wing, increasing the advantage to four goals.

The first victory was not going to escape Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, prevailing by 30 to 27 to Balonmano Proin Sevilla and adding the first two points of the season in the Men's Silver Honor Division. The next rival of the Lanzarote team will be Sinfín Santander.
