Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen lost again this Saturday at the Municipal de Tías in the visit of Grupo USA H. Mislata (24-27) in a match corresponding to the eighth day of the Women's Gold Honor Division.
The tiñosero team played against the Valencians, a direct rival for permanence, an irregular match that they managed to balance after much rowing in the second half to collapse in the last minutes, the minutes of truth.
The aurinegras did not start badly. An improvement in defense was observed, with more automatisms and intensity. They did not get ahead because two penalties were missed in the first ten minutes (4-4). Both attacks became somewhat stuck, with the post coming into action, against local interests. In less than fifteen minutes it appeared three times. Brenda Torres broke the drought with the entry of Tati Masseu but it was a drop in the desert. Mislata was more successful at the end of the first half and gave the tiñoseras an unanswered partial of three goals (6-9, min.23).
Both teams accumulated errors in attack until Juanmi Pérez's first forced timeout. After the break, the Valencians continued to score what the locals missed. The partial rose to zero five. With three minutes left for the break, Dely Leyva added double to end a tiñosera desert crossing. Bad closing of the first period for Puerto del Carmen. Mislata took advantage of ten seconds of play to score with excessive ease (10-13).
In the second half, the tiñoseras continued the erroneous inertia. Too many oversights, both in defense and in attack. But, based on courage and defensive improvement, they began to get closer on the scoreboard. Shortly after, a ride by Masseu on the left returned the match to a tie at seventeen (min. 9). Yuyi Insfran scored and provoked Susana Pareja's timeout. A new game was beginning. After the break, the Paraguayan continued to do her thing and delighted the crowd with a spectacular lob. Mislata was stuck. The game took a break. After the revolution, the post came back to tiñosera life. Mazaira came into action, at the second missile stop with the hip and goal on the counterattack. The game of a lifetime (21-19, min. 17).
But the tiñoseras began to deflate in the last third of the period, exactly the same as in the first half. Mislata perked up until they took the lead again (23-24, min, 23). Juanmi Pérez stopped the match. Lucía Téllez became serious in the che goal and Sandra Monteagudo stole the ball to extend the advantage and stab the match (23-25). Atteneri Morales missed a penalty and the Municipal de Tías suddenly filled with grayish clouds for the yellows.
With the rope tightening around her neck, Brenda Torres managed to raise oes from the stands after another beautiful balloon (24-26, min. 27). But Mislata had smelled the blood. Eva Ramírez scored to destroy the few tiñoseras hopes with little more than a minute of play remaining. Puerto del Carmen could do nothing. Giant step for Mislata. Too much irregularity from the locals against a direct rival for permanence.
The tiñoseras are placed in eleventh position in the standings with five points after accumulating two victories, one draw and five defeats in eight matches played. The Valencians, who had only tasted one victory until yesterday, are approaching twelfth with four points.
The top scorer for Puerto del Carmen and the match was Fernanda Insfrán with six goals. In the ranks of Mislata Monteagudo got five goals to take the match.
Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen returns to competition on December 14, at 7:30 p.m., in a new conejero derby at the Pabellón de Titerroy against Cicar Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife in a match corresponding to the ninth day of the Women's Gold Honor Division.
