A busy summer awaits the young athlete from Playa Blanca, as Ariane Muñoz has earned the right to represent Spain in the World and European Sailing Championship Class 420, so in just one month she will compete at the highest level alongside her partner Gabriela Cañibano, first, in the Marina of Gdynia, Poland, in the European Championship, from July 3 to 10, and then returns home to compete in the World Championship, from July 21 to 29, at the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante.
On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, Óscar Noda, wishes "the greatest of success to Ariane, which will also be the success of her family, Playa Blanca and the entire municipality". "Ariane is a great example of training in our grassroots sport, perseverance and a leap to great competition, as demonstrated by her good work and call-up to defend the colors of Spain," he says.
The acting Sports Councilor, Ángel Lago, highlights that "Ariane Muñoz started in the Optimist Class and was training, learning and competing at the 4 Vientos Regatta Club and the Código Cero Sports Club, both from Yaiza, with whom the City Council maintains collaboration agreements for the promotion of the youth academy",
Ariane also participated last year in the second edition of the Copa Vela Latina del Sur with the Deportes Yaiza - Código Cero women's team made up of a total of six sailors. Ariane is currently part of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife.
The immediate itinerary is very intense. Ariane will fly to Barcelona on June 26 and from there the next day, together with the Spanish National Team, she will head to Poland to prepare the boats and train for the European Championship that will be held from July 3 to 10. On July 11 she returns to Lanzarote to travel a few days later to Alicante and there prepare and participate in the World Championship from July 21 to 29.
