The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, received Pedro Fraile last Tuesday, after being recently awarded the Gold Medal for Sports Merit of the Canary Islands 2023.

Fraile, a historical member of the Canary Islands Sports Discipline Committee (COCADE), also recognized with the Gold Plate for Sports Merit as an institution, is currently the vice president of said body and director of the Legal Advice of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.

During the meeting, the island representatives congratulated Pedro Fraile for this "well-deserved award, the highest distinction in the Canary Islands in sports matters" and for his "magnificent work in the Canary Islands Sports Discipline Committee for more than three decades, guaranteeing the correct development of competitions in our islands", points out President Oswaldo Betancort.

Throughout his professional career, Pedro Fraile has been linked to administrative law, both as a public manager and as a legal representative of the Lanzarote corporation, and to sports law, as a member of COCADE.

Both Betancort and Monzón also highlighted "the magnificent work carried out by the Canary Islands Sports Discipline Committee as the highest body in the archipelago in matters of sports conflict resolution." "A work that is carried out altruistically by specialists in law, such as Fraile, the only one who remains since its creation, which contributes to promoting integrity and fair play in Canarian sport," concludes the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón.
