This Friday the LVII Spanish Absolute Winter Swimming Championship began in Sabadell, where all eyes have been on the "record-woman" Mireia Belmonte, who after achieving two world records and 4 golds at the Doha World Championships has become the star of the national competition.

Marta Santana from Lanzarote has traveled there, enrolled in the ranks of the CN Metropole from Gran Canaria and living the dream of being with the greatest swimmers in Spain in short pool swimming.

The first of the events in which the current champion of the Open Water Cup was participating was the 4x50 women's freestyle relay. The Lanzarote native, only 15 years old, started in the first leg and managed to clock a time of 26:49, helping to win the bronze medal in the modality together with Cintia Álvarez, Beatriz Corral and Evelyn Álvarez.

This is the first time that a swimmer from Lanzarote has obtained a medal in the Spanish Absolute Championships, a merit that she has achieved thanks to the work done first by Eugenio Rojido and then by Ricardo Senra in Lanzarote, and now being completed with the work she is doing at CN Metropole in Gran Canaria.

Marta still has two events ahead of her, the 50 meters freestyle and the 50 meters butterfly, where, after the medal obtained on the first day, she will surely have the enthusiasm to repeat the feat.
