Magec Tías runs out of ideas in the last quarter against Náutico de Tenerife

The visiting team achieved a victory by 52 to 64 after a 0-15 partial in the last quarter

Basketball match between Magec Tías Against Gender Violence and Náutico Tenerife ULL

Magec Tías Against Gender Violence could not keep up with Náutico de Tenerife and fell defeated by 52 to 64 in a match corresponding to matchday 20 of the Women's League 2. Jesús García's team started the match very well, but as the minutes passed, Igor Martín's girls were overcoming it with a very intense defense and a decisive outside shot.

The match began with three-pointers from Verónica Matoso and Carolina Mateo for Magec Tías. The local team played with their heads and achieved a lead of up to four points, but the visiting team did not give up and tightened the score with strong pressure throughout the court. The first quarter ended with a 15 to 18 favorable to Náutico de Tenerife, who had to regret the injury of Samira Olano.

The second quarter was more of the same, with a nervous Magec Tías lacking ideas against a well-organized defense. Náutico de Tenerife, which adapted better to the surface of the Sports City, where last year Magec Tías created an almost impregnable fort during the works of its Municipal Pavilion of Tías, extended its lead to seven points, but the local team reacted and reduced the difference to just one at halftime, 27 to 28.

After passing through the changing rooms, Magec Tías came out very focused on the match, playing good basketball, coming back on the scoreboard and forcing the visiting bench to call a timeout. After the break, Náutico de Tenerife once again imposed its defensive rhythm and with two consecutive three-pointers, they regained the lead, dismantling all the good things the locals had done. The third quarter ended with a 43 to 46 for the Tenerife team, which already had some players on the verge of elimination due to fouls.

The last quarter was the one of the sentence. Magec Tías risked looking for the comeback, but that risk turned into nerves, the nerves into erroneous decisions and these decisions into points for the rival. Náutico de Tenerife signed a 0-15 partial that left the match seen for sentence, with a maximum advantage of 16 points. The visiting team finally won by 52 to 64, achieving a very important victory for their aspirations in the standings.

For Magec Tías, the most outstanding players were Carolina Mateo and Yaiza García, both with 14 valuation points. For Náutico de Tenerife, the most outstanding player was Gara Jorge, who with 34 valuation points, thanks to her 20 points and 17 rebounds.

With this result, Náutico de Tenerife is placed ninth with 7 victories, the same as Magec Tías, which occupies the tenth position. Both teams have the relegation, with 3 victories of advantage, somewhat far, but they will seek tranquility as soon as possible. Next week, the Lanzarote team visits the CB Arxil court.
