Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence came close to victory again in a highly demanding match against ESCO Grupo Femenino Alcorcón, third classified in Women's League 2. The team led by Jesús García played a very competitive match, even managing to lead the scoreboard at various points, but ended up yielding in the final minutes by 73 to 78.

The clash began with great intensity and maximum equality. The local team showed from the start its intention to stand up to one of the most powerful teams in the category. During the first quarter, the Lanzarote women managed to impose themselves at times, reaching a lead of up to four points. The duel in the paint between Yasmine Sifaoui and Yaiza García marked the rhythm of the interior game, forcing both teams to open the court and look for solutions from the perimeter. In that scenario, Magec Tías Lanzarote showed itself more accurate, closing the first partial with a basket on the buzzer by Birgit Snorradottir that placed the 21-20.

The second quarter maintained the same tone of balance, although on this occasion it was the Madrid team who managed to better manage their possessions to take a slight lead. Defensive intensity increased and both teams opted for a tactical game, minimizing errors and avoiding burdening their key players with fouls. The equality was maintained until the last moment, when a basket by Noehmy Ipo allowed ESCO Grupo Femenino Alcorcón to go into halftime with a lead (35-39).

After going through the locker rooms, neither of the two teams substantially modified their approach. The importance of the match, both in the fight for the top zone and for permanence, was reflected in every action. The visiting team managed to open a gap of up to seven points, but Magec Tías once again demonstrated its competitive character, closing the gap thanks to its intensity and fighting spirit. At the end of the third quarter, the scoreboard reflected a 55-60 that left everything open for the last ten minutes.

The last period started with an exceptional atmosphere in the Tías Municipal Pavilion, which registered the best attendance of the season. The support of the fans boosted the home team, who managed to come back and get ahead on the scoreboard, generating moments of great excitement. However, physical exhaustion began to take its toll. The precision in passes and shots suffered, and the match entered a decisive phase where every error was crucial.

In the final minutes, ESCO Grupo Femenino Alcorcón knew how to better manage the pressure, recovering the lead on the scoreboard. Magec Tías Lanzarote, also conditioned by the accumulation of personal fouls, faced the outcome with more heart than clarity, which ended up tipping the match to the visitor's side by 73 to 78.

With three matchdays remaining until the end of the regular phase, Magec Tías Lanzarote Against Gender Violence remains out of the relegation spots, although tied in balance with El Plantel GMASB, whom they surpass by basket average.

The Lanzarote team will face next matchday a new challenge of maximum difficulty, visiting GEIEG Pacisa, second classified in Women's League 2. The match is scheduled for Sunday, March 29 at 12:00 hours, peninsular time, in a key duel for the aspirations of the red-and-black team in this final stretch of the season.
