Leonardo Armas and Manuel Carrión, world champions of J80 in mixed category

In addition, Alfredo González and Cristian Sánchez won the bronze, while Rayco Tabares with the Princesa Yaiza finished with the fifth place

The winners of the 'J80 World Championship'

The 'J80 World Championship' ended in Baiona (Pontevedra) with excellent results for the sailors of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. Leonardo Armas was proclaimed champion in the mixed category with the Dorsia Covirán, together with the Lanzarote sailor Manuel Carrión. 

Alfredo González, skippering the 'Michelle', and with Cristian Sánchez in his crew, won the bronze in the mixed category. Rayco Tabares, at the helm of the Hotel Princesa Yaiza and with Lay Torres, Héctor González, Gonzalo Morales and Luis Martín as crew members, took fifth place in the men's category.

Miguel Naverán and Antonio López-Socas finished ninth in the 'Corinthian' class sailing in the boat 'Longevida' under the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife burgee.

  • Female: Team Balearia-RCNP – María Bover – RCN Palma
  • Young: Telesto-Ecole Navale – Paul Loiseau – CV Ecole Navale (FRA)
