Lanzarote Zonzamas made their defeat against AD Carballal expensive

The match against AD Carballal did not come at the best time for CB Lanzarote Zonzamas, as they did not have many of the squad's players available to face the Galician team. Despite this, the Zonzamas players did not lose face at any time, putting up a fight against AD Carballal. In the end, the locals took the two points that were at stake (26-24).

The match started with a goal from María Pereira, putting AD Carballal ahead on the scoreboard. CB Lanzarote Zonzamas reacted with goals from Andrea Gómez from the pivot, putting the Lanzarote team ahead on the scoreboard for the first time. It was a phase of the match with an exchange of goals, where the differences were minimal.

With eleven minutes to go until the end of the first half, AD Carballal achieved a three-goal lead. Not even the time-out requested by Manuel de León, who performed the coaching duties in this match, prevented the Galician team from opening a small gap. The CB Lanzarote Zonzamas players reacted, although the first half ended with a 3-0 partial in favor of Carballal (13-9).

The script of the match did not change during the second half. CB Lanzarote Zonzamas stayed alive, not allowing AD Carballal to pull away on the scoreboard. The fatigue of having only one player on the bench for rotations was not noticeable in the Lanzarote team, although they had to manage their strength on the court.

The scoreboard reflected a tight 21-20 with ten minutes to go until the end of the match, so CB Lanzarote Zonzamas maintained their chances of achieving a positive result. The AD Carballal players were the ones who knew how to play their cards better in this final stretch of the match and take the victory.

At the end of the match, the score was 26-24 and it was AD Carballal who took the two points at stake. CB Lanzarote Zonzamas suffers its third consecutive defeat and is in ninth position in the standings. BM Palencia Turismo will be the next rival of the "batateras", a match that will be played on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Pavilion of Las Palmeras de San Bartolomé.
