UD Lanzarote was defeated 4-0 in the second leg of the promotion playoff to the Second Division "B". Burgos turned the tie around and achieved promotion to the bronze division of Spanish football. The Rojillos suffered a heavy punishment in a match that began to tilt in favor of the home side following a more than rigorous penalty. UD Lanzarote will know this Monday its new rival, having to pass two qualifiers to achieve the desired promotion to the Second "B"
The match started as expected. A Burgos that turned to the goal of UD Lanzarote and a rojillo team tried to defend against the onslaught of Burgos in the first minutes. Such was the push of Burgos, that the locals executed eleven corner kicks in the first half of the match.
As the minutes passed, UD Lanzarote shook off the dominance of the locals, although they barely left their field of play. Several shots from Burgos from the edge of the area ended with the ball in the hands of a safe Alejandro. At the beginning of the second half, UD Lanzarote stretched lines in search of the goal that would put them back in the tie. Despite the rojillo push, the best chances continued to be for Burgos. Hugo Salamanca entered the area, and Alejandro prevented the striker from finishing comfortably. Quico de Diego brought Rubén Rodríguez and Javi Betancort onto the field, in search of a greater presence of his team in the center of the field.
Burgos CF would increase the differences in the score after a stroke of genius from Troiteiro in the 20th minute. With a cut he left the rojillo defenders planted, ceded back to Hugo Salamanca and he sent the ball to the bottom of the nets. It was 2-0 and delirium seized the populated stands of El Plantío.
From that moment it was a wanting and not being able by UD Lanzarote. Toñito was the most incisive player of Lanzarote in these minutes, but his claw did not have the reward that was expected.
