Nicola Brown and Jubal Hernández participated this weekend in the marathon mode of the Transvulcania, with a route of 44.3km and a difference in altitude of almost 5000 meters accumulated. Nicola Brown was the best Canary Islander and 6th in the women's general classification with a time of 6 hours 9 minutes and Jubal Hernández with a time of 4 hours and 50 minutes obtained the 8th position in the men's general classification.
A great merit for these Lanzarote runners, who have competed alongside several runners from the Canary team. Enrique Meneses, Spanish mountain running champion in 2013, also competed. As for the women, there were runners of the stature of Leire Aguirrezabala, current Spanish mountain running champion and recent winner of the ultra advanced transgrancanaria. A race with more than 500 participants in which the high temperatures, the more than 2000 meters of altitude, the hydration and the high traffic of runners of the ultra distance represented additional obstacles to the demanding distance of the race.
