From Beijing gold to the waters of Puerto Calero

The brand new Spanish Olympic champion in the Tornado class, Antón Paz, has confirmed his participation

in the ORC 670 World Cup Islas Canarias Puerto Calero World Championship.

This Madrid native based in Galicia since he was a child, will be part of the Telefónica Team

headed by Pedro Campos.

Antón Paz is one of the most fashionable sailors. His last great feat together with his partner

Fernando Echavarri has been winning the Gold Medal at the Beijing Olympic Games, but in his record they had already won two World Championships and

one European Tornado Championship, having been chosen by the ISAF as the best sailors

of the year in 2005 and the record time occupying number 1 in the World Ranking

of the ISAF in the Tornado class.

In this way, the ORC 670 World Cup Islas Canarias Puerto Calero is beginning to stand out as

one of the key events of the current sailing season and will continue to place the archipelago

on the international map of nautical activities.
