Forward Jonathan Torres out of UD Lanzarote

Forward Jonathan Torres will no longer defend the colors of UD Lanzarote and on Wednesday he disassociated himself from the discipline of the red team. Fabián Rivero, coach of the first team, will not be able to count on one of the players who had been a fixture in his schemes. An extra-sports problem has been the cause of this decision and the agreement reached by both parties to terminate the commitment that existed between the two parties until the end of this season.

UD Lanzarote, through a press release, reported on Wednesday afternoon the disassociation of Jonathan Torres as a player of the first team of UD Lanzarote. In it, it was reported that the player had requested his discharge for personal and work reasons. The request was studied by the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote and an agreement was reached between the two parties.

The disagreement between the player and the club began last week. Jonathan Torres had a heated verbal argument with one of the directors of UD Lanzarote and from that moment he stopped training with the first team. The forward was not called up for last Saturday's match against Villa Santa Brígida, despite being one of the most used players by Fabián Rivero.

The situation was far from being resolved, this being one of the reasons why the player requested his federative discharge. After being studied, both parties reached an agreement to terminate the commitment that united the club and the player until the end of this season.

Jonathan Torres has played 6 games this season, all of them as a starter, being 434 minutes on the field. He has seen a yellow card and has not scored any goal in the six games he has played.

The Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote wanted to thank "the professionalism shown by Jonathan Torres and his commitment to the red entity". The press release recalled that the forward was one of the players who supported the current directors to take over the reins of the club, in a delicate moment and when the disappearance of the entity was being debated.

With the departure of Jonathan Torres, the squad of UD Lanzarote is composed of a total of 18 players. A squad that seems short to face a campaign in the Third Division and be fighting for the top positions in the standings.
