CD Unión Sur Yaiza qualified this Saturday for the second round of promotion to the Second Football Federation after drawing with Las Palmas Atlético in extra time (1-1), in a match played at the Campo Municipal de Yaiza, and eliminating their rival by an aggregate score of 2-1.

The yellow subsidiary, who had lost the first leg at the Anexo to the Estadio de Gran Canaria (0-1), took the lead in the 49th minute thanks to a penalty converted by Pau Ferrer, and managed to force extra time, although they faced it with a numerical disadvantage due to Elías' expulsion.

In extra time, Las Palmas Atlético was obliged to score a second goal, since the final 0-1 would give Unión Sur Yaiza the pass due to their better classification in the regular phase - there is no penalty shootout - and they had a great chance to do so with a shot off the crossbar.

However, the Lanzarote team did not need to maintain that minimal disadvantage as they tied the match in the last minute of extra time through Moha.

Unión Sur Yaiza will find out this Sunday who their rival will be in the regional final, which will come from the match between UD Lanzarote and CF Panadería Pulido San Mateo (1-1 in the first leg), scheduled for 11.30 am at the Ciudad Deportiva de Arrecife.
