This Sunday the X Teguise Minibasket Tournament culminated in the Teguise Pavilion.
One more year, 350 children from the different Canary Islands competed again in a beautiful basketball show, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in this edition under the organization of Sands Beach Grubati.
The Nuryana from Tenerife completed a brilliant performance after being proclaimed winner in the men's and women's categories. Their players Jorge del Castillo and Sara de la Fuente were also chosen as the best players of the final.
In the men's category, the first place was decided in a very tight final in which Nuryana beat Luther King in the last seconds by 53 to 51. Nuryana was followed in the general classification by Luther King of Tenerife (2nd), Juventud Laguna of Tenerife (3rd) and Sands Beach Grubati of Lanzarote (4th). The conejero club, coached by Aday Villalba, managed to sneak into the semifinals after a vibrant match with the Amuley majorero.
In the women's category, Nuryana beat Ariagona from Lanzarote (2nd) by 73 to 51. The Lanzarote team completed a remarkable performance despite not being able to count on two of its players in the final phase because they were called up by the Canary Islands pre-selection. In third and fourth place were (3rd) Basket Tara from Gran Canaria, coached by former Grubati player Juanmi López, and (4th) Club de Baloncesto Amuley from Fuerteventura, who once again demonstrated their good work on the basketball courts.
This culminated a minibasket festival that has already become a classic of the Canary Islands basketball competitions.
