El Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote loses the lead on the court of Bueu Atlético Balonmano

San José Obrero fell by 28 to 23 against the Galician team in a bad match

El Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote leaves the leadership on the court of Bueu Atlético Balonmano

Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote closed the year with a defeat on the court of Bueu Atlético Balonmano, a result that relegates them to second position in the standings. It was not a good match for the players led by Jesús Casanova, who did not find their best version in attack or defense. Their ideas became clouded in the final minutes, with the Galicians taking advantage to pull away on the scoreboard.

The game direction of Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote was affected by the absence of central Mikita Bence, with Alexis Rodríguez and Acoidán Martín in charge of this task. The locals were quick to gain a three-goal advantage, after two goals from José Lopez and one from Brais López (5-2).

San José Obrero soon lost Mikita Liavonau, a player who retired injured after suffering a dislocation in one of his fingers, and with whom the Lanzarote team lost outside shooting. When things were at their worst, Pedro Cabrera scored two goals in numerical inferiority, Joel Armas tied the match and Alexis Rodríguez put the Lanzarote team ahead for the first time (6-7).

After passing the halfway point of the first half, the maximum lead in favor of the visitors occurred after goals from Joel Armas and Acoidán Martín (8-10). Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote disconnected in the final minutes of the period, committing many errors in ball circulation and not knowing how to overcome the locals' 5:1 defense. The score at halftime was 14 to 12.

The second half was a case of wanting to but not being able to for the Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote players, who were never comfortable on the court. José López with a seven-meter shot increased the difference to three goals (20-17), although goals from Pedro Cabrera and Pablo Rodríguez brought his team back into the game.

San José Obrero managed to equalize the score after Acoidán Martín culminated a counterattack (21-21). From that moment on, the Lanzarote team had their worst minutes on the court, and they didn't know how to play the mixed defense that the locals posed on Alexis Rodríguez. More than six minutes without scoring, and giving facilities in defense for Bueu Atlético Balonmano to pull away on the scoreboard.

The final score was 28 to 23, with Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote suffering a defeat that drops them from the lead of group A of the First National Men's Handball League and places them two points behind Calvo Xiria. The competition resumes on January 16 with the derby against Vitaldent Vecindario Gran Canaria.
