The Island Sports Service has organized, together with the Spanish Handball Federation, the celebration of the Spanish Handball Cup, in the youth and senior categories, an event that will be held on February 8 and 9 at the Tías Municipal Pavilion in the senior category and at the Titerroy Pavilion in the youth category.
FC Barcelona, BM Granollers, BM Torrelavega and BM Bidassoa will be the four teams participating in this event.
“Once again, the elite of youth and senior handball meets on our island with this event that will bring together FC Barcelona, BM Granollers, BM Torrelavega and BM Bidassoa”, said the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, who thanks the Federation “for their willingness and interest in holding it on our island.”
The four teams, in the senior and youth categories, will fight to win the Spanish Cup in this exciting event that will bring the best handball players at a national and global level to Lanzarote.
“It should be emphasized that FC Barcelona is not only the current leader of the Asobal League, but has also risen as champion of the EHF Champions League on twelve occasions”, added Monzón.
The event will be presented this Thursday, January 16 at 12:00, in the Plenary Hall of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, in an act that will be attended by the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, as well as representatives from Tías and Arrecife and the vice president of the RFEBM, Blas Parrilla. In addition, the draw that will decide the matches between the teams will be held at that time.
