The Canary Islands Championship celebrated this Saturday in Lanzarote the second event of the year with the IX Tinajo Slalom, a race organized by CD. Evesport and promoted by the City Council itself. It ended with the triumph of Borja Pérez and Rubén Pérez with their new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, who achieved an advantage of 16.7 seconds over the next classified, winning three of the four passes to the timed section of Tinajo-La Santa-Tinajo, of 4.75 km. The Maxo Sport team with an effective Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X started with number 1 on this occasion and perfectly matched the forecast that gave them as favorites, dominating the leadership of the competition from beginning to end. Only giving up 2.5 seconds in the B1 special to the team of Kevin Guerra-Aitor Cambeiro, second classified of the slalom with the VW Polo N5 of Fuertwagen Motorsport, who were not disturbed from that position either. The third place on the podium and more than half a minute behind the previous ones was won without problems by the Subaru Impreza of Daniel Guerra-Sergio Vera, who are gradually improving with this mount. In short, a podium of great level despite the absence of the dominators of the Regional, such as Jesús Tacoronte-Mariola Sáez.

The dominance of the Mitsubishi was evident from the fourth to the sixth classified, which in this order were Esteban Feo-Jesús Alonso, followed by Sergio López-Jonay Fragiel and the Colt Proto of Alejandro Pérez-Tania Reyes. In this area could have been Francisco Alamo and Iriome Perdomo, who retired due to steering failure in the case of the Evo driver and rear train for the Subaru driver.
The victory in two-wheel drive and seventh overall, was for the Skoda Fabia N5 of Jesús Díaz and Lucía Santiago, with 8.9 seconds over Gustavo Fumero-José Varga with SEAT Ibiza, who in turn surpassed by 22 seconds the third of this section and winners of class 4, Jordan Aguiar-Achen Perdomo with Opel Corsa, eighth and ninth respectively in the final absolute classification. Cristian Santana-Delia Fránquiz won with their VW Golf in the FALP Promotion Trophy.

In car-cross Fernando Fontes did not have much opposition to his Speed X-Trem, but the fight for the second place was more close and was finally awarded to Daniel Méndez (La Base SX01), by only one second difference over Rubén de León (Ya-Car). In quads only one participant, Miguel Espinel with a Suzuki. The non-participation of the leader of the event José Luis Fragiel, puts Fontes as co-leader.

The race was developed without complications or major race incidents and fulfilling the planned schedule, to finish with the awards ceremony to the 34 classified. Regarding the Canary Islands Championship, Borja Pérez with this result ties with Tacoronte in the lead.
