Claudio González and Marta Bazán crowned winners of the Tinajo Mascaritas Race

The event premieres the Popular Races Cup of the municipality and is part of this year's Carnival program

Tinajo once again celebrated the Mascaritas Race, filling the streets of Tinajero with color and joy and premiering the Popular Races Cup of the municipality, as part of this year's Carnival program. 

Organized by the Tinajo City Council and Cronoline, the 5.2 and 10.4 kilometer race began at 10:00 a.m., with the youngest starting at 11:30 a.m.

Claudio González was the winner in the main event, followed by Eutimio Betancor (EBR-Sport) and Víctor Manuel González (CD Triatlón Por un sueño). In the women's category, Marta Bazán (CD Triatlón Por un sueño) was the winner, with Elizabet Perdomo in second position and Elena Cedrés closing the podium.

In the 5.2 kilometer race, Hugo Pérez (EAMJ Playas de Jandía) was the winner, followed by David Morales (More coaching) and Óscar Padrón (DC El Jable). In the women's category, Elena Valiente (CD Latitud 29º) won, accompanied on the podium by Valeria Borges and Ana Yúryiga Lemes (JCH).

The mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, wants to "congratulate everyone who has participated in this event, which is beginning to be a classic of the Tinajero carnivals, giving our municipality spectacular color and joy. Thanks also to everyone who has collaborated in the organization that, as every year, has done a good job. Congratulations to all," he concluded.

According to the Councilor for Sports of Tinajo, Vianney Rodríguez, "with the Mascaritas Race we started the Tinajo 2024 Popular Race Cup. Filling the streets of Tinajo with so much color and such a good atmosphere is our challenge every year, every carnival," highlighted the Sports Councilor Vianney Rodríguez.
