CD Arrecife is once again left without a headquarters

The leaders of Club Deportivo Arrecife will have to look for a new place where they can develop their sports activity. If two years ago it was an eviction order that left them on the street, now the non-payment, by the institutions, of the rent of the property they occupy, will leave them on the street again. It will be on Friday when they must hand over the keys to the owner of the premises.

For more than a year and a half, CD Arrecife has had its headquarters at number 12 Calle Ingeniero Paz Peraza. In 2009 they were left without a headquarters due to an eviction order and after several months of fighting, they managed to find a place where they could continue to develop their activity.

The owner of the premises has notified the entity chaired by Marcial Cedrés that they must leave and has explained that the reason is the lack of payment of the rent agreed upon in its day. The payment of the rent for the premises was agreed upon by the previous government group of the Arrecife City Council, with the capital corporation being responsible for the payment. In recent months, the owner of the premises has not received the agreed amount.

In recent days they have rushed to put all the sports equipment and trophies that this entity has achieved throughout its history into boxes. What worries the managers of CD Arrecife the most is the washing of different kits that the teams use during the weekend. As happened on the previous occasion, each manager will take a kit and will be responsible for washing it at home.

In the current season, CD Arrecife has about 150 players, from pre- Benjamin to the Regional team. Players who will be left on the street again, without a place that is their headquarters.

Protests before the City Council

CD Arrecife is preparing several protests for next week so that their demands can be heard by all citizens. One of the protest measures will be a march from the training ground to the Arrecife City Council, where all the CD Arrecife players would gather.

The capital entity seeks the necessary support from the rest of the clubs in the capital, so that they also participate in this symbolic protest.
