CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen was defeated this Sunday at the Florida Arena Municipal Sports Center against Oviedo Women's Handball (22-20) in a match corresponding to the thirteenth round that closes the first round of the season in group A of the Women's Silver Division.
Defeat in a match with few goals and very marked by a hesitant start by the Tiñoseras, which caused a small distance on the scoreboard that was maintained until the end of the match.
Intense match played with power to power but weighed down by the score between two teams that aspire to the maximum at the end of the regular season. The local team knew how to play with the advantage acquired in the first minutes of the match, relying on the figure of their goalkeeper, who was very successful throughout the match, and setting a slow playing time that favored their game and came close to despairing the conejeras players as the minutes passed.

For the Tiñosera coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, it was an "intense match in which a bad start condemned us throughout the match. Oviedo defended us with a very intense 6:0 that we did not know how to overcome and that is why the scarce eight goals we achieved in the first half. The second half started somewhat better but every time we could get closer on the scoreboard, the figure of their goalkeeper appeared, who had a great match. In defense we improved in the second half but Oviedo attacked very slowly and played with our desperation to shorten the differences".
Lemes clarifies that "now the fight for second position is tightening as San José distances itself in the standings. Next week we have Lavadores to finish the year. We have to recover our game and not lose a single point at home", he concludes.
Next weekend CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen starts the second round of the league calendar with the visit to the forty by twenty of the Municipal de Tías of CDEC Lavadores Vigo.
