CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen falls against the leader in Oviedo

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen fell this Saturday in Asturian lands against the leader, Lobas Global Atac Team Oviedo BF (27-20), in a match corresponding to the thirteenth day of the Women's Silver Honor Division.

Except for the first stages of the match, the local team, in the middle of the first half, marked the first notable differences (10-4, min.20), which Juanmi Pérez's players could no longer reverse as the minutes passed. Everything started well for the Tías' interests, a good 6-0 defense that kept things even, but after warming up, from the tenth minute, the Asturian defense began to work and practically dried up the visiting attack.

In the first minutes of the restart, three consecutive exclusions in the local team and the impetus of Atteneri Morales allowed Puerto del Carmen to get within four goals of the leader. A mirage. From that moment on, Oviedo knew how to return to the path of good work and did not allow the Tías team to evolve further in the match, which saw the gas running out.

For the Asturians, the plan worked perfectly, eighth consecutive victory and they conclude the first league round as solo and undefeated leaders.

The Tías team, who faced the clash with the leaders after two consecutive victories, continue, after the defeat, in fifth position with 13 points, surpassed by San José, with 18 points in thirteen matches, and the top three, Oviedo BF (25 points), Porriño (22 points) and Rodríguez Cleba (21 points).

Among Manolo Díaz's pupils, Magali Torres was the top scorer of the match with six goals. In the ranks of the conejeras, Atteneri Morales was the most successful in the offensive facet with seven goals.

In the last match of the year, Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen will play as a visitor again. It will be in the Cantabrian Polideportivo Pedro Velarde where next Saturday, they will face Camargo74 Propenor Repsol, a team that has not played this week after postponing their match against Siero Deportivo Balonmano and who are in the lower part of the table with seven points in eleven matches, three victories, one draw and seven defeats.

For the Tías coach, Juanmi Pérez, it has been "a match where we started quite evenly, very focused on what we were doing. In the middle of the first half, they went ahead on the scoreboard after some unnecessary losses. We were rowing all match, reducing the differences minimally but we didn't know how to get closer on the scoreboard. Oviedo had not lost this season, they are a great team and the match was even except for that moment in the first half when they went ahead. With this match, a first round ends in which we have not scored against the top four, I think we are a little below them, perhaps we need something more. We are working well to improve that fifth place in the second round, although it has become clear that it is a complicated league".
