CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen has managed to cut the bad streak and end the year with a victory this Saturday morning in the visit of Bm. Ikasa Boadilla (27-24), in a match corresponding to the tenth day of the Women's Gold Honor Division.
The match began with the ball motionless, on the ground during the first minute of play, as a sign of protest against violence in sports after the unfortunate incidents that occurred in a handball match in Galicia last week.
Once the match was underway, it was characterized by equality during a good part of the match. Both squads marched in spurts, alternating good stretches with moments of many doubts in attack. They reached halftime tied at fifteen.
In the first minutes of the restart, Boadilla managed to gain a two-goal advantage, the most difficult moment in the match for the locals, good in defense, but with many failures in attack. In addition, the post was allied with the visitors. Former Tiñosera Cati Benedetti had the plus three for the Madrid team in her hands. Made Cortez appeared in the aurinegra goal. Cristina Betancort broke the scoring drought of the Tiñoseras and Puerto del Carmen gritted their teeth to return the tie to the Tiense scoreboard (22-22, min. 18.30).
Boadilla advanced lines looking to stop Juanmi Pérez's team, a lover of speed. Tati Masseu put her team ahead from the corner while Made grew under the sticks (23-22, min. 20).
Yuli joined the party with a balloon from the ground to provoke a timeout from the Madrid team. Roberto Plaza received a yellow card for delaying the return to the Tiense park. Many nerves.
Made in her own way, disguised herself as an insurmountable wall while Atteneri put the longed-for plus three with five minutes left for the final whistle (25-22). From that moment on, everything accelerated. High throws. Alba Yuste missed a penalty that seemed decisive for the visitors, but Montero quickly compensated for the error in a counterattack (25-23, min. 26.41).
And Made's aura grew bigger, the only imperturbable one on the court. Some doubts in the face of Madrid's pressure gave way to a timeout from Juanmi Pérez with just over a minute of play remaining. There was no time for more, Tati sentenced the match and left a victory after three consecutive defeats in the Tiñosero box to sweeten the Christmas break a little more.
Puerto del Carmen is placed tenth in the standings with seven points after reaping three victories, one draw and six defeats in ten matches played. Boadilla remains in fifth position with twelve points and accumulates three consecutive defeats.
Fernanda Luján Insfrán became the top scorer of her team and of the match with six goals. In Boadilla, two players stood out with five goals each, Asma Belguenani and Alba Yuste.
The Tiñosero team returns to competition on January 11, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., on the court of Agrinova Costa de Almería Roquetas.
