CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen achieved a comfortable victory this Saturday against Loizaga Construcciones Castro Urdiales (38-19) in the penultimate match of the Women's Silver Division of Honor played at the Tías Municipal Sports Center.
With this victory, Miguel Ángel Lemes' players reach the last match, in which they travel to face Logroño Sporting La Rioja, depending solely on themselves to achieve the season's objective, a place in the promotion playoffs.
The match against the Cantabrian team remained even for the first fifteen minutes of the match (7-5), at which point the Tías players began to develop their more usual game characterized by fast counterattacks and control of the defense and the rhythm of the match, managing to increase the differences pushed by the expulsion of María García in the Cantabrian team (minute 41:47), causing a greater advantage for the locals as the match was decided.
In the offensive work, Mari Sánchez stood out with eight goals and Famara Fernández with seven goals scored, well supported by the six goals that both Luci Betancort and Rosa Álvarez achieved. Among the players of the Cantabrian team, María García and ZXaira Franco stood out, with four goals each.
Twenty-two victories for the conejeras in twenty-five matches that keep them in the lead of the qualifying table before the last day of the league. The conejeras maintain the first position, followed by Logroño Sporting La Rioja and Atlántico Pereda.
The Lanzarote team is one step away from the option of fighting for the promotion playoff spots. They depend solely on themselves because by drawing or winning in La Rioja next Saturday, April 6 against Logroño Sporting La Rioja, they will have the lead of Group B of the Women's Silver Division of Honor and the seat on the train to the promotion playoffs.
