Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen was defeated this Saturday at the Municipal Pavilion of Tías in the visit of Salma Adesal (23-25) in a match corresponding to the twentieth day of the Women's Gold Honor Division.
The match did not start badly for the Tías team, sharp in defense and successful in attack against some Cordovan players somewhat surprised by the aurinegra staging. Lucía Vacas woke up Adesal with a forceful penetration, but Lucía Betancort responded on the fly (5-3, min. 8).
The Andalusians fixed the defense on Insfrán in search of some defensive oxygen and the combat on the Tías parquet began to even out (5-6, min.13).
The local slump added to the good work of Ángela Ruíz from the left corner of the attack, causing Juanmi Pérez's first timeout (6-10, min. 18).
Adesal continued with the five-one defense making things very difficult for the Tías team. Even so, Puerto did not give up and improved somewhat in defense. First timeout for the Cordovan team (10-13, min. 24) to prepare for the first half. The last minutes turned into a small street race from which the visiting team benefited. With no time on the scoreboard, Adesal had a shot that Andrea Roda turned into an authentic missile to the right corner of the aurinegra goal (12-17).
Puerto tried to go out with new energy to the court, but Amanda Valero grew in the Andalusian goal (13-20, min.8). Adesal moved forward lines and once again disconcerted the local attack.
A couple of saves by Made Cortez with their corresponding yellow counterattacks caused the Cordovan timeout (15-20, min. 11).
A blow from Roda to Atteneri Morales' face meant five stitches on the Tías captain's eyebrow and a red card for the Andalusian player. Puerto cut the distance on the scoreboard somewhat, but Adelsa quickly recovered (17-22, min.19).
Puerto kept trying, but time was running out and it seemed like a fifth gear was missing. In addition, the rush began to cause too many losses on both sides of the court. The Tías team minimally scratched the distance on the scoreboard, but the seconds sprinted towards the end. Carolina López and Brenda Torres made up the score in the final moments until they were two down, but Adesal already knew they had won the match.
With this defeat, the Tías team remains in tenth place in the general classification with fifteen points. Salma Adesal is placed in fourth position with twenty-seven points in a quadruple tie from second to fifth place with San José Obrero, Bolaños, Oviedo and the Cordovan team.
In the Tías ranks, Fernanda Luján Insfrán became the top scorer for her team and the match with nine goals. In the Andalusian team, with a much more choral score, Ángela Ruíz's six goals stood out.
The Tías team returns to competition next Saturday, April 5, at 8:30 p.m., at the La Canaleta Pavilion in Valencia visiting Grupo USA H. Mislata. The Valencians are second to last with six points, tied on points with the bottom of the league, Almería Roquetas.
