The youth team of San José Obrero won against Zonzamas in both matches of the final

Ca´Mario Lanzarote - CB Zonzamas

On Wednesday afternoon, the second leg of the final of the Lanzarote Men's Youth League was held, with the match between Ca´Mario Lanzarote and CB Zonzamas. The youth team of San José Obrero arrived at the second match of the final with a five-goal advantage, an income acquired in the first leg played last Friday. The players led by Paco Hernández once again achieved victory by 20 to 17, proclaiming themselves champions of Lanzarote and qualifying for the Canary Islands Men's Youth Handball Championship.

Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero began to steer the match from the beginning, achieving a partial score of 5 to 0 in the first five minutes with goals from Pedro Noda (3), Souto and Alejandro Hernández. The coach of CB Zonzamas was quick to request the first timeout, trying to stop the intensity put by the locals in the first minutes.

Francisco Javier Hernández was in charge of piercing the goal defended by Yamal Nasri for the first time. The locals suffered the first setback in the 9th minute, when Pedro Noda was disqualified, after suffering three exclusions, one of them for protesting to the referees. The batateros took advantage of the moment of doubt of the rival to get closer on the scoreboard and get two goals down.

Three goals from winger Odin Van Gelder served to return the five-goal advantage to Ca´Mario Lanzarote, and the difference that was maintained until the end of the first half. With the score of 13 to 8, the end of the first 30 minutes of the match was reached.

The second half began with a partial score of 0 to 2 in favor of CB Zonzamas, with goals from Francisco Javier Hernández and Oziel García (13-10). Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero responded quickly, with Daniel Martín scoring three goals to increase the income to six goals (16-10), the maximum until that moment.

Despite the attempts of CB Zonzamas throughout the second half, the locals knew how to manage the advantage they had acquired to the maximum, and never allowed the income to be below three goals.

With the score of 20 to 17, the end of the match was reached, with Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero winning the title of champion of the Men's Youth Handball League. In addition, the Titerroy team will represent Lanzarote handball in the next Canary Islands Men's Youth Championship.
