Brilliant victory for Toñín Suárez-Moisés Robaina in the I Rally Tías ? Yaiza

Those of the Porsche 911 GT3 scored seven of the eight stages held and accumulated a lead of 41.3 seconds, thus registering their name as winners of the first edition of the event organized by Club Lavasport. The podium was completed by Aníbal Machín-Francisco Abreu (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) and Miguel Quintino-Carlos García (BMW M3).

With a more summer-like temperature than the current season, the I Rally Tías – Yaiza ‘Go Karting San Bartolomé Trophy’ was developed with a phenomenal response from the fans. From the first section to the last they were protagonists. Witnesses in turn of this first edition of the event organized by Club Lavasport in which the Porsche 911 GT3 of Toñín Suárez-Moisés Robaina took the victory.

The Lanzarote team took the lead in the third timed event, just after their two consecutive scratches in the ‘Casa Heidy’ special. From there they gradually increased their income, first with their effectiveness in the double pass through ‘Las Breñas-Las Casitas’, a special held in the municipality of Yaiza, and then in their first contact with the king section of this edition: ‘Tegollo-La Candelaria’. There they decided the race in their favor, a rally in which they won seven timed sections to finally finish with a 41.3 second advantage.

The second position was for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX of Aníbal Machín and Francisco Abreu. They were the first leaders of the race thanks to their scratch on the karting track of San Bartolomé, a leadership that they were able to hold during the first two specials. At all times they showed themselves as the shadow of the winners, enraging the fans with spectacular driving. To give even more brilliance to this first edition of the event, the podium was completed by a team from Gran Canaria. Miguel Quintino and Carlos García climbed onto the podium after combining their characteristic speed and spectacularity at the wheel.

 

            Yeudiel Suárez-Francisco Rosales (Renault Clio) took Category 4 and Group N from fourth place overall, ahead of Jesús María Lemes-Jonás Rodríguez (Toyota Yaris), winners in Category 3. Juan Carlos Cabrera-Rayco Guerra (Renault Mégane), suffering at the end, won Category 2. José Juan Díaz-José Díaz (BMW 323i) took the cat to the water in Group H, while the Citroën Saxo of Agoney Díaz-Diego Ginés scored the victory in Group A.
