Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife dies on the shore against Caserí

San José Obrero was clearly harmed by the disastrous performance of the refereeing duo

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife Dies on the Shore Against Caserí

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife was unable to score against one of the big favorites in the category, partly due to the disastrous performance of the refereeing duo, who did not measure the two teams in the same way. San José Obrero was ahead on the scoreboard for many minutes against ID Energy Caserío, with the forces on the court being equal in the final stretch of the match. The team from Ciudad Real scored the winning goal in the final seconds, leaving Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife without a prize.

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife proved to be superior to its rival in the first part of the match. Goals from Acoidán Martín and Javi Aragón, from the seven-meter line, gave the locals a two-goal advantage. ID Energy Caserío took almost six minutes to overcome the local defense, minutes in which Javi Santana made three good saves under the posts.

ID Energy Caserío coach Santiago Urdiales was quick to request the first time-out of the match, seeing how Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife was gaining a four-goal lead, after two good outside shots from Ander Iriarte (5-1). After the instructions from the bench, the locals obtained their maximum advantage of the match and enjoyed a six-goal lead (8-2).

The double exclusion suffered by Rafa Robayna and Ángel Iglesias was used by ID Energy Caserío to close the gap on the scoreboard, going two down when Santiago Alejo scored (15-13). A Caserío that played in the final minutes of the first half with a 5:1 defense and with the score at 21-18 reached the end of the first half.

Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife started the second half somewhat cold, which allowed ID Energy Caserío to reduce the difference to the minimum expression. Despite the problems the locals were having in attack, the good connection with the pivot and the extraordinary definition of Abián Martín allowed the team to stay with options.

The refereeing performance began to be evident in this second half, with decisions that were undermining the options of Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife. The refereeing duo did not have the same criteria when raising the passive hand in the two areas, some actions of the Caserío defense were not punished with seven meters, and without a doubt, the two benches were not treated in the same way, with the locals being sanctioned with an exclusion for the protests from the bench.

ID Energy Caserío took the lead for the first time on the scoreboard when Marcos Fis scored (28-29). Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife did not collapse, fighting for the possibility of scoring against one of the favorites in the category. With a few seconds left to the end, Ángel Iglesias established the tie with a seven-meter shot. And in the last attacking action, José Andrés Torres caught a ball rejected by Javi Santana on the six-meter line and scored the winning goal for ID Energy Caserío.

With the result of 33 to 34, the match came to an end, with Balonmano Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife suffering a painful defeat and being seriously harmed by the disastrous performance of the refereeing duo. It is time to get up again and start preparing for next week's match against Barça Atlético.
