Auria Badminton Club closes its first participation in the Island Games

The club wins four medals in the competition that has been developing throughout the season

Auria Badminton Club in its first Island Games

The badminton season on the island of Lanzarote is coming to an end, and last Saturday the last concentration of the Island Sports Promotion Games was held.

The school competition has been developing throughout the season, with the supervision of the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and whose main objective is the promotion of badminton among all categories. 

Throughout the season there have been six badminton concentrations that have been developed within the Island Sports Promotion Games. Four of the days have been held in the individual modality and two in the multigender doubles modality. The last concentration took place on Saturday morning at the IES Blas Cabrera Felipe facilities, in Arrecife, and after which the awards ceremony took place. 

In their first participation in the Island Sports Promotion Games, the members of the Auria Badminton Club have won four medals. Highlighting the performance of Adrián Carabali and Graciela Müggler in the under 17 category, in which they have been proclaimed champions in a great season. For her part, Martina Negrín has been runner-up in the under 17 category, as has Sofía Gómez in the under 15 category. 

The participation of the Auria Badminton Club in the Island Sports Promotion Games has been completed with the presence of Álvaro Guadalupe and Jacob López in the under 11 category, Salomé Parra and Yurena Evelyn Reyes in the under 15 category, Rinad Morales in the under 17 category, and Zhi Tao Li and Rubén Jorge in the under 19 category. 

The Auria Badminton Club is preparing this week to face one of the last competitions of the season. Next Saturday they will travel to Fuerteventura to participate in the TOP TTR Gran Tarajal, to be held during the weekend in the town of Tuineje and which takes place in the under 11, under 15, under 19 and senior categories.
