The capital of Lanzarote will be the epicenter of the great sailing festival during the celebration of the XIII César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas, which will take place from Thursday to next Sunday. This prestigious event, which began in 2002 in response to the demand from the local fleet for a high-level event, has become consolidated as one of the three most important events on the national circuit.
In this edition, the J80 fleet is introduced, in addition to the usual Cruiser (ORC) class, offering an even more exciting and competitive experience. "Everyone will be able to enjoy the sailing show, follow the races live through tracking, or enjoy them from the boat that will be available to the public. We have one of the best regatta fields and a fun social program accompanied by our good gastronomy," the organizers pointed out in the presentation.
The César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas will feature the participation of 20 boats, including a prominent representation of the fleets of Tenerife and Las Palmas, with strong support from the local fleet. The skippers' meeting will take place this afternoon, Thursday, June 6, marking the official start of the event. The competition will begin on Friday, June 7 on the regatta field, located a few meters from the Arrecife coast, allowing all fans to follow the different races from land to conclude on Saturday, June 8, where the last races will be held and the winners of this edition will be announced.
The regattas can be followed live through the official website of the event, www.trofeocesarmanrique.com, offering an immersive experience for all sailing lovers who cannot attend in person.
Once again, the unbeatable conditions offered by the Canary Islands for practicing this sport will be demonstrated, and more specifically Lanzarote and Arrecife, as one of the best regatta fields in the world, where many nautical events have been held, such as the transoceanic regatta, also organized by Calero Marinas, such as the RORC Transatlantic Race or the 44 Cup Calero Marinas or, in other nautical disciplines, such as the World Canoeing Championship.
First-class infrastructures, such as Marina Lanzarote, which will host the fleet participating in this thirteenth edition of the César Manrique Trophy, together with an experienced organization of high-level regattas, make the Canary Islands destination the perfect cocktail to host top-level nautical events.
This event is organized by Calero Marinas and the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and is sponsored by Islas Canarias, Turismo Lanzarote, Deportes del Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ayuntamiento de Arrecife and Louzao Mercedes Benz.
