An injury leaves Sandra Hernández without the U17 European Championship

An unfortunate injury will prevent the Lanzarote player Sandra Hernández from participating with the Spanish Under-17 National Team in the second phase of the qualifying round for the European Women's Football Championship. The extent of the injury is currently unknown, although the player's feelings are not the best and she may have damaged the cruciate ligament in her knee. Sandra Hernández was due to join the Spanish Under-17 National Team's training camp this Monday, before traveling to Lyon (France), where the second qualifying phase for the European Women's Football Championship will be held.

Sant Gabriel, the team in which Sandra Hernández plays this season, faced Levante UD last Saturday. The unfortunate play occurred in the 17th minute, when a bad gesture caused her severe pain in one of her knees. Sandra Hernández could not continue on the field and had to be replaced by a teammate.

The player's feelings were not the most hopeful and she thinks she may have damaged the cruciate ligament in her knee. Sandra is waiting to undergo an MRI and confirm the extent of her injury. For the moment, she has been recommended absolute rest until the medical tests are performed.

On Monday, Sandra Hernández was due to join the Spanish Under-17 National Team's training camp in Las Rozas. Until March 22, they will carry out a series of training sessions and then face the Second Qualifying Phase of the European Championship that will be held in Lyon (France) from March 22 to 30. The Canary Islander Andrea Sánchez will be in the call-up and will represent Canary women's football.

Throughout the weekend, Sandra Hernández has received many messages of encouragement through social networks. Her teammates from the Spanish National Team assured that they will miss her during the days that the concentration lasts and more than one has promised to dedicate a goal to her. From LanzaroteDeportiva.com we also want to join these shows of support and we hope to see Sandra Hernández as soon as possible on a playing field.
