To the blunders that this government has accustomed us to, we must add one but in capital letters? 14 days of quarantine for tourists arriving in national territory, even if they do not know where to place our archipelago on the map.
What the Canary Islands needs, from common sense, is to shield our external and internal borders with an insurmountable wall to Covid 19 and only for him, which I consider would be the greatest incentive to boost a real economy with demand and with future projection.
The Canary Islands, together with the Balearic Islands, must have a differentiated strategy that shows that they are among the regions least affected by the pandemic in Spain and the world.
What is not acceptable is that in a supermarket chain (Hiperdino), temperature tests are carried out to allow entry to any of its centers and at Barajas airport you simply have to present your boarding pass to access the flight? It should be remembered that Madrid, as of today, is the Spanish city with the most deaths from Covid 19 and the fourth in the world, with more than 8,000 deaths, and a flight from southern Sweden with 397 infected per million inhabitants still cannot land in the Canary Islands? It's crazy, this is the absurd reality that we suffer in our land, to cry about.
The criticism of the blunders is really tiring, and the worst of all is that our lives depend on it, it is a matter of immediacy. How long do we have to remain silent and watch with anger the disaster that these measures are generating for the people of the Canary Islands? Ana Oramas already demanded this Wednesday in the Congress of Deputies in a loud voice: -"we need greater security controls on flights to the Canary Islands"-, I even go further, as we live in an archipelago and the fragmentation by island would facilitate the control of Covid by island, it would be best to carry out controls at all island airports that carry out inter-island flights, from a temperature test to a PCR per traveler and with control of the anonymous GPS associated only to a number, thus controlling vectors of contagion in the territory.
Applying measures of this type and not the dissuasive 14 days of quarantine, would turn the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands into a world spearhead in the post-Covid 19 tourism development. In addition, measures of this nature would grant an extra media visibility of the Canary Islands, which, if well managed, would place us among the top five positions in the exclusive ranking of the best tourist destinations in the world. A campaign in which the most expensive investment would be common sense, which with quarantine decisions that exceed the average period of our visitors, hinders any initiative in this regard.
Implement, as it cannot be otherwise, training for any person who develops any activity - whether commercial or industrial - and person who applies for a job, of the new security standards that from these moments will be essential even in the most everyday.
I believe that this should be the path to direct the Canary Islands in relation to tourism, our main source of wealth.
Among all of us we must ensure the possibility that even a German teleworker, for example, can continue doing his job from our Famara beach or from any of the extraordinary tourist resorts that the Canary Islands has.
