According to article 26 of the local regime regulations, municipalities must provide a household supply of drinking water in all cases. In view of the percentage of drinking water losses on the island of Lanzarote, which translated into numbers is more than 13 million cubic meters of water per year, which represents more than 50 million euros, it is understood that there is sufficient evidence for political forces to propose electoral proposals in this regard to solve the problem as soon as possible.
As is known, these water losses are the result of the poor condition of the supply network since the end of its useful life has already been reached without its logical renewal.
In addition, and in accordance with the principles of efficiency and effectiveness that all rulers of the institutions of our island must comply with, the efficient production and distribution of drinking water would benefit residents and entrepreneurs with significant reductions in the water bill, while maintaining the profit margins of the supplying company. Why produce and "throw away" so much water?
We are finishing this election campaign and the political forces of our island have not made any electoral proposal aimed at reducing water losses to zero liters, being aware that a collapse in the supply of drinking water may occur sooner rather than later. What are they waiting for? Do they intend to distribute the water with cisterns again?
Because we need water and because they should not cause the supply system to collapse, renew the network.
