There is no money for the Insular Hospital

The Insular Hospital is dying in its final moments, tired of hearing words like benchmark, geriatrics, care services, and a long etcetera that

it sounds like the past, as if words could save him from certain death. But the only word that can save him is renewal, and for that, others are needed: will, present, and future.

On its 75th anniversary, the hospital closes its eyes, but continues to hear, like a constant echo: it is not functional, it does not comply, and the worst of all, there is no budget. Thus, little by little, they have let go of its hand, letting it go, as if they wanted it to disappear without a trace, for no one to remember that this hospital once existed.

I know my voice is just a drop of water, but if we all join together, we can become an ocean. And maybe, just maybe, someone will hear us and wonder: why not? We can row together and achieve a stronger, more dignified hospital, one that continues to be, as it has been, the hospital for all our elders. Because Lanzarote deserves it. Because our elders deserve it.
