Silver or lead?, trick or treat?, pact or coal? Three questions to decide; three, like the musketeers who sang the one for all and all for one!; or three, the Three Wise Men from the East, which is a coincidence to be born on Epiphany and be more felipista than juancarlista, from whom changed our country corduroy jacket through.
Well, if it is about three magic, not one, not two, but three have been the agreements offered to the government of Teguise on relevant issues: planning, investments and organization of the Consistory. Not everything in politics is to confront or criticize - which also and when it touches -, you also have to combine it with necessary pacts. This is how I understand the public, this is how we exercise our work of opposition. So much so that, up to three times, we have transferred the need to reach those agreements that affect long-range decisions for our Municipality, even more so in the current circumstances. So far without luck.
Without luck, or without the government's will to accept the hand extended and update, for example, the general plan, promoting a better treatment of the action units that mortify many neighbors, or the impossibility of undertaking some investments, because of not coming in the Plan. Also in terms of the approval of a Special Plan for the Historic Center of La Villa, waiting for decades; and even, the offer to adopt a common position against the new Rector Plan of the Chinijo Archipelago, which yes or yes, must reach the eighth island and Famara, which is already time once.
But there is no way. Even today, Oswaldo's group ignores the calls to agree on priority investments in social matters and infrastructure, especially in times of crisis due to COVID and before the announcement of extraordinary resources for the economic reconstruction of Spain, the Canary Islands, Lanzarote and our Municipality. Whether talking about budgets of 21 or a plan to set up Costa and the whole villages, the truth is that attempts to demonstrate that Teguise "is different" and things can be done in another way are in vain: agreeing each other for the common good. With the good image that we would give!
Nor do they, for now, pick up the glove aimed at modernizing the operation of the Consistory and be more agile in meeting the requests of our fellow citizens. Although the promise to grant licenses and authorizations in three months formulated by the current mayor is still far away, and let it be clear that even if it were in six, it would have our support and contribution if they wanted it, which seems equally far away.
And that, with how good a Pact for Teguise sounds, of concord or as they want to baptize it, that we would not be exquisite with the name of the creature either, but yes with the need to reach them between those who are in the Government, because for that they have a majority, and those who exercise a different opposition, enunciating and vindicating possible agreements. This, agreeing, pact, consensus is a thing of two - at least - so that Teguise is also politically different and allows a space where we understand each other in some things. For this part we have it clear, pact or coal? The answer is simple: Happy Three Wise Men.
