On May 28, citizens like you will elect the new councilors of the 8,131 municipalities in Spain, and among them, ours in Teguise.
Despite the many polls, trends, or political intuition I may have, I don't dare to predict what your preferences will be, nor what majorities there will be, because one thing is clear to me: you decide, with your vote, with your participation.
What I do know is that I want - from among the 21 councilors that correspond to our municipality - the one who has the responsibility of being the mayor of all the people of Teguise, all of them, without distinction.
From those who vote for me, but also from those who opt for another option; from those who go to the polls and those who stay at home; from those who bet on the person or those who opt for the acronym.
And I want to be it, simply, because I am convinced that a better Teguise is possible. That things can and should be done more and better, with enthusiasm, rigor, as a team and also promoting political alternation, something healthy after 14 years of the Canarian Coalition Government, which exhausts anyone.
Enthusiasm, to do more for the well-being of the people of Teguise, give a new boost to the municipality, regain its leadership and take advantage of the enormous opportunities it has. Hence, the 150 initiatives that we have presented in the last four years and that we want to turn into actions.
Rigor, so that the truth is the presentation card of the Government, with transparency and accountability as we have done when auditing the current municipal government and we will also do from the mayor's office.
Team, because what remains to be done is easier together, with shared effort and also counting on the opposition in strategic issues for Teguise and La Graciosa.
Democratic alternation, to open the doors and windows of a City Council that must be exclusively at the service of all citizens, and without anyone being eternal in office.
Less than three months before the electoral appointment, I confess - word of mayor - that these are the reasons to present myself and ask you for the opportunity to be the mayor of all my fellow citizens.
The last word is yours, but yes... I want to be your mayor, and this is the moment.
