It depends on us

The current health situation has led us to increase operations in the capital for fifteen days. Agents of the Local, National and Canary Police are working together to ensure that health regulations are complied with in Arrecife in the face of alert level 4 established on the island for weeks. The health workers of the Molina Orosa Hospital are exhausted and enabling new spaces to care for patients who suffer the most from the disease. Citizen awareness and the effort to comply with the measures are paying off and the contagion curve has decreased in recent days. The vaccine has meant a great advance in the fight against the pandemic, but a final effort is needed to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And that depends on everyone.

The police operations deployed by the capital have had a function beyond monitoring and enforcing anti-Covid measures. They also carry out awareness and guidance work so that these people who do not comply with the law can understand the health severity we are experiencing. This pedagogical work carried out by the agents is essential to raise awareness among citizens, ensure our safety and help save lives. The coordination of the different Security Forces allows us to give citizens an effective response.

We are experiencing a very hard month for the health workers who work tirelessly at the José Molina Orosa Hospital. There are no words to thank all the effort they make on the front line, day after day, without rest, to save all possible lives. It is time to return all that work with responsibility, solidarity and empathy. Because they also need a break and that depends on all of us.
