In that movie, Donald Sutherland also ended up contaminated with the gelatinous virus that cloned humans into very strange beings.
It took them a while to realize that something was happening to people, because their character had changed, they looked very strange and walked like zombies following a call of diffuse origin.
And although no one remembered how they had become contaminated, the consequences were disastrous for that community, with distrust and fear on the rise.
Everyone began to distrust their neighbor.
With the pandemic ignorance the same thing is happening, that many people are imbued with some messages and repeat and spread them as postulates of life and, in addition, with an intransigence that anyone discusses anything with them.
This is the case of hatred against black and poor immigrants, it is spreading the illegitimacy of governments and ballot boxes, maneuvering to wear down the government that tries to get us out of the health crisis in the most reasonable and orderly way possible.
And in these are the various rights, knowing that crises wear out those who manage it.
In fact, some political leaders and other social and communication agents have been problematizing these issues as if our lives were at stake, with a participatory scenic dramatism that consists of heating up the environment and directing anything against the government, including fights in a parking lot, but only if those who fight are darker than us.
It was Galdós who said that the greatest misery is ignorance. Well, launching hoaxes and forcing lies and half-truths builds ignorance. Emulating the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) is beyond words.
It is about making ultra bodies become commonplace. A fight, a hotel full of poor people, a queue in a bakery, everything must become a matter of life or death, everything except adding support to reverse the health and economic crisis that we have on top of us.
Therefore, for these groups and people and right-wing political leaders, channeling any circumstance to overthrow the progressive government is the objective. And if they have to borrow Trump's discourse on the illegitimacy of the ballot boxes, then so be it.
To hell with democratic norms. Anything goes in order to return power to their own, even if it is by wielding textbook anti-democratic values and ways.
Fishing for votes wherever, even if it is in the mud, giving the speech that some want to hear, that is, cheap right-wing populism, well, they give it to them and that's it.
The main objective is to return power to the usual people and not touch a cubic centimeter of consolidated privileges. And if some call for coups d'état and shootings, well... life is diverse and, after all, apparently, speeches and messages are not responsible for shaping common sense. No way.
Only at the end of the movie could the expansion of those slobbering and unpleasant human clones be stopped, in the end sanity prevailed, but what they left behind was a very damaged and distrustful society.
A chaos. Of course, some live better in chaos.
Donald Trump is gone, but these ones remain.
