Today, the day of the Virgen del Carmen, you have flown to Heaven. That's what I think. You were a friend since I arrived in Lanzarote. You have been a great friend with a capital letter.
I remember the affection, attention and dedication to your mother. You were a great woman, with your silence and your smile you knew how to fight in life, with energy and determination, leading your offspring, of whom you felt very proud and whom you continue to protect from beyond.
I remember our care for our little ones in the park. Later, our entertainment with the canasta game and especially our snacks and sewing for Carnival, which we did with such enthusiasm.
And now Father God takes you and leaves us with so much pain and sadness. We will always carry you in our hearts.
Teresita, I'm not saying goodbye!
You will always be with us.
My tears, no matter how much they fall, will not bring you back.
But I still have something left in this world: to offer a prayer for you.
I remember how much you believed,
how much light you put into every word directed to heaven.
Today, with a broken heart,
I join that same heaven where you now live,
and from here I name you in silence,
as the sacred is named.
