I must confess that I read with surprise an opinion piece by the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, in which he tried, in my opinion unsuccessfully, to construct a narrative in which to justify his recent outburst in the plenary session of the island's Cabildo, attacking everyone right and left without the slightest regard for the truthTaking advantage of the fact that the Pisuerga passes through Valladolid, in those "induced" words of the president, he places me as a "go-between" for the Socialist Party, as another henchman, as if I were my natural and preferred partner. Forgive me, Mr. President, but you are mistaken, I have never been mayor of Yaiza with the support and votes of the PSOE, something you and your party have done on countless occasions and not only in Teguise, and do not be mistaken, Mr. President, forgive me once again, you are not as skillful or as important as to deserve coordinating an entire strategy to end you. You will end yourself.
His empty promises and illusions are being discovered despite his great media campaign. His failures are surfacing as the end of his term approaches, and his lies no longer have wood to grow from. Therefore, forgive me Mr. President, you are not right
Furthermore, those of us dedicated to politics must be honest, be exquisite in our manners and expressions, you have written an opinion piece to justify an out-of-line expression that has no precedent in the honorable history of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, even though you place yourself far above the representation you hold. That type of expression denotes insecurity, incapacity, desperation, especially desperation
Desperation at having exposed their weak and deceptive position with the ZAR zones, for not having improved the Integral Water Cycle at all, despite their fruitless declaration of water emergency, where by the way, in Barranco street to La Hoyita in Femés we have different broken pipes and neighbors are being harmed who have to bail water out of their homes. In my town, and this didn't happen before in Yaiza, the water is cut off on Tuesday afternoon and doesn't arrive until Thursday morning. Does that seem normal to you?
What in its day were promises, good intentions, and enthusiasm, today is reflected in a management that shines by its absence and that forces you to use these types of attacks to divert attention from what is truly important. Your management, therefore, Mr. President, is evaluated and scrutinized by the opposition, and I insist, I have nothing personal against you and you know that I have extended my hand to you on countless occasions and have always obtained a negative response, accompanied by an institutional slap in the face to my people in numerous matters
Forgive me, Mr. President, you call me a "gossip," but it is not I who acts by half-measures to materialize a revenge against me, punishing my people for it, you are not my enemy, it is your null capacity, do not be mistaken, Mr. President.
That is why my interventions are increasingly intense, time is running out and as you say Lanzarote has no time, but my people do not either, five years waiting for the Los Hervideros road, three years waiting for the arrival of cruises in my municipality, many years waiting for the water to arrive in conditions and not be cut off. In Yaiza and Playa Blanca we have been waiting a long time to not see the buses pass by because they are full, and furthermore, we want to see them more frequently and see a circular bus operating within our municipality. You have been hesitating for a long time with the project to bury the pylons, you have been promising, promising and promising for a long time, and very little fulfilling, and the few times you do, you do it with excessive disloyalty. Mr. President, excuse me but I have even been good in my considerations towards your management and mandate
For this reason, at this stage of the game, some think that my "strategy" with you, both as mayor and as councilor, has been too soft. They are mistaken. Those who know me know that I am not a politician in the usual sense, that I try to make the general interest prevail over partisan struggle and that I don't mind congratulating and recognizing, as I have already done in that council plenary, when things are done well, but do not expect me to remain silent in the face of injustices and your non-compliance, and I don't mind you linking me with whomever you want to link me, placing me wherever you want to place me, in every place where you want to put me I will defend my people a thousand and one times more before you and before anyone who stands in the way, because I, as mayor of Yaiza and as councilor of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, want to live under two premises: the clear conscience of duty fulfilled and to walk humbly with my head held high, symptoms of having always employed truth and loyalty, especially with my people. In short, Mr. President, forgive me, but governing is not the same as occupying a seat
