The Yaiza City Council has put out to tender the cleaning service for municipal offices and public toilets with a base budget of 496,000 euros per year, with the Administration foreseeing a four-year contract for a total estimated amount of 1.9 million euros, according to the conditions and technical characteristics described in the specifications available since October 2 on the Public Sector Procurement Platform and with interested companies having until October 31 to submit their offers.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, points out that "we have the obligation to maintain buildings, offices and public toilets in the best conditions of hygiene and healthiness, so given the lack of personnel and material resources, we opted to tender the service with all the guarantees so that our workers, neighbors feel much more comfortable."
The awarded company must provide all the machinery, spare parts, accessories and cleaning products suitable for the conservation of buildings, furniture and equipment, products that should also not be dangerous to people's health or the environment.
Rubén Arca, councilor responsible for the maintenance of public buildings, explains that "interested companies must first know the facilities before formulating their offers and thus we ensure their suitability to comply with each and every one of the requirements detailed in the specifications."
The contract includes, among other actions, the cleaning of the toilets of the Playa Blanca town court and the La Degollada picnic area, public toilets in the center of Playa Blanca, toilets of the San Marcial del Rubicón and El Aulagar court and also the services of the Bus Station, the latter being the subject of citizen complaints due to their state of conservation.
The cleaning service consists of maintaining the centers in optimal cleaning conditions, covering floors, pavements, baseboards, bathrooms, walls, ceilings, patios, glass, blinds, handles, lamps, plugs, vacuuming and cleaning of carpets, rugs, elevators and stairs. The tender specifies the daily, weekly and monthly tasks.
